Despite war being quite possibly the vilest of Mans atrocities, it seems to sell well in videogame form. While most shooters come in the form of first person shooters set in World War II, the occasional game will be released that focuses on modern warfare. Pivotal Games Conflict series is an example of the above, with the first two games being set in Iraq, with a third in Vietnam. These games have not been especially good; they are usually ugly and generic in their visual and play styles, but this has not stopped the series from selling millions of copies. Conflict: Global Storm is the fourth game in the series, released under the guise of Eidos Interactive (recently acquired by SCi, who published the first three). Is Global Storm the first decent entry in the series, or is it just attempt to cash in on the War on Terror? In South America, a new terrorist group March 33 has started to emerge. Believed to be descendents from the ODESSA Nazis, March 33 aims to bring down the governments of the world, establishing a new world order. To do so, they begin a campaign of violence and intimidation. In response to this terrorist threat, the original heroes of Conflict: Desert Storm; Bradley, Foley, Jones and Connors are dispatched. It would appear that there is a mole within the commanding ranks, and the CTU is ambushed upon landing. It?s up to you to find out who this mole is, as well as preventing March 33 from reaching their goals.

Atomic Cannon features two types of game play including a point based round mode, and a death match mode where you fight to the end. Players take turns shooting at each other, and shot trajectories are calculated using real physics. There are also weather effects such as rain, snow, and dust storms that effect game play.
You can blast your enemy with a vast array of weapons. Some weapons have radioactive effects that harm your opponents over time.
